Model overview
The ultimate cheat code for small surf. This hybrid extra-volume model is a short, wide and thick board packed with hidden foam, for surfers who want to catch everything without reaching for a longboard or funboard. An ultra-flat rocker generates instant speed on the weakest ripples, so you get the loose, fun manoeuvrability of a shortboard with the paddling power of a much larger board.
It competes with longboards in the line-up while keeping a snappy, performance feel, and the short frame fits in the back of the car. It turns tiny, mushy, unrideable days into high-speed, fun sessions. Like every Watta it is shaped by hand and built to you.
Skill level, beginner to advanced
A wave magnet for everyone. Easy for a beginner to catch waves and stand up, and a genuine small-wave weapon for an advanced surfer on a gutless day. The chart gives an advanced, intermediate and beginner weight for each size, so you can read straight off it.
Design and conditions
- Wave size
- 1ft to 4ft, ankle high to chest high.
- Wave type
- Soft, gutless beach breaks, mushy points and weak summer surf. It flies through dead, flat sections where other boards sink.
- Outline
- Super wide, compact template. The wide nose and hips maximise surface area for instant plane, lift and stability from take-off.
- Rocker
- Ultra-low entry and flat exit, so the straight profile works as an engine for paddle speed and down-the-line acceleration.
- Bottom
- Generous single-to-double concave with a slight vee off the tail block, so the wide shape still moves rail to rail smoothly.
- Rails
- Full, thick, boxy rails that hold volume to the edge, keeping the board on top of the water in chop.
- Fin setup
- 5-fin convertible. Quad for speed and loose tracking in weak surf, or thruster for controlled pivot turns.
